Fourth Phase

Our Mission

Fourth Phase is a Public Benefit Corporation, launched with the social impact concept of mothering the mother built into our DNA.
For those who choose to become mothers, we believe the process of giving birth is a sacred act, and that recovering from childbirth requires intentional care.
We exist because the world is in a maternal health crisis. A 2021 report from the CDC showed the U.S ranks 1st amongst developed countries in maternal mortality rates, with underserved communities more than three to 10x more likely to die during the Fourth Trimester.

According to the World Health Organization, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia accounted for around 87% of the estimated global maternal deaths in 2020. Sub-Saharan Africa alone accounted for around 70% of maternal deaths, while Southern Asia accounted for around 16%. Nearly all of these maternal deaths in the U.S. and around the globe are preventable. We launched Fourth Phase to address this global need. Every purchase enables a new mother to put her well-being front and center, and allows us to donate to charitable partners tackling the national and global maternal health crisis.
